Welcome to Headtonic

Headtonic’s new doormat. Welcome!

Welcome to Headtonic!

Embarking on a new subject with the goal of transforming it into a viable business seemed overwhelming at first. During lockdown, I found myself (like many of us) unexpectedly playing the role of a primary teacher and quickly discovered that I wasn't very skilled at it (my son was honest with me!). I needed a new pursuit to maintain my sanity. That's when hypnotherapy came to mind.

Around 10 years ago, I considered studying hypnotherapy. However, I couldn't pursue it as the courses available were only offered on weekends. Since I worked in the wedding industry, I had to let go of that idea.

Considering the limitations imposed by COVID, I assumed that I wouldn't be able to learn hypnotherapy. Therefore, I decided to enhance my counselling skills first, to make me better equipped to provide therapy. I’d volunteered as a counsellor at The Samaritans before, and enjoyed it.

I found a weekly Coska course and immediately enrolled (before I wimped out).

To explore new territory, I had to download Zoom and find a private, peaceful space at home to concentrate. Although nervous, I was thrilled with my decision. Every Tuesday, I relied on this new outlet for learning. My colleagues and I shared intimate stories of our life experiences, which were necessary for us to develop our counselling skills.

By the end of the course, we had become vulnerable with each other and gained valuable life skills, but we hadn't met in person yet.

While many of my Coska colleagues went on to pursue counselling, I researched hypnotherapy and enrolled in Hypnotherapy Scotland.

Hypnotherapy Scotland is run by a husband and wife team who’ve worked together for over 20 years). They adapted to teaching online due to ongoing restrictions. The plan is to eventually meet in person and continue practising hands-on work with each other.

I was delighted to have gained more knowledge in the therapeutic aspect of hypnosis after finishing the Coska course. This experience has helped me become more comfortable with online work and less anxious. During the course, we explored the history of hypnosis, its various benefits, and I felt a growing sense of confidence that I am on the right path.

I chose hypnotherapy over traditional counseling because I wanted to assist people right from the beginning of their therapy journey.

Allow me to elaborate.

Let's say a customer has trouble opening up and discussing the main reason for their visit. This could be due to their dissatisfaction, which may lead them to overeat, damage relationships, and experience general anxiety. They may not even know what is holding them back. However, with hypnotherapy, clients typically experience progress from the first session. Our sessions suggest ways to help clients relax, build confidence, and sleep better, which can have a positive impact on their overall well-being.

When in a relaxed state of mind, such as during hypnotherapy, individuals are more likely to come to conclusions on their own, similar to meditation.

It's not necessary to discuss painful experiences with your hypnotherapist. They can provide tools to process and overcome them.

Powerful stuff right?

I consider myself lucky to embark on a new path as a hypnotherapist while continuing my work as a makeup artist. The lockdown period helped me recognize my passion for enhancing people's facial features and witnessing their joy at the end result.

Through my new business, I am able to provide clients with a sense of relaxation and a multitude of long-lasting benefits. My passion for this ancient practice of utilizing the power of the mind to help others drives me to constantly strive for knowledge and growth. At a minimum, clients can expect to leave each session feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.

Thank you for reading my first blog post on my new website! Please feel free to leave any comments or questions below. I would greatly appreciate any feedback. 🫡😊
